Pre-Christmas Special

Well it's nearly Christmas so I thought I would update you all with some pictures from the past few weeks.

 Eimear has been great at helping me in my baby bath. I can't wait to be big enough to go in the big bath with my two big sisters.

 When I was three weeks old we went out for our first big family adventure to Dalkey. It took us about an hour to get of the house though.

 Aoife and Jack and Neil came to visit me for the first time. They were all so tall!

 In the middle of the day I love to go for a nap in Mummy and Daddy's bed.

 Eimear loves to hold me on the couch. Although she also likes to bounce me a bit too much in my bouncy chair!

 Mummy is great fun!

 After about five weeks I started getting used to the camera.

 Anti Bairbre flew all the way over from Amsterdam to see me. She was great at helping Mummy to look after me.

 I was finally big enough for my bouncy chair. Finally I can sit up and watch the world go by.

I also love lying in my cot in the kitchen on my comfy sheepy rug.

Daddy's friend Rowan called around. I think he wanted to steal me because I was so cute!

Our Christmas tree arrived, my first one ever. It smells so nice!

One Week Old

Hi all,

Well I'm one week old and it's been such a busy one at that!

 I have been doing a lot of playing with my new sisters. They are great fun.

 They love holding my hands and making sure I'm ok when I am sad.

 Every morning I do a little workout. It's great fun being able to stretch my arms and legs.

 My big sister Eimear is great at looking after me and helps mummy to change my nappy everyday and she gives me lots of kisses.

 Afterwards she loves to hold me for a while on the couch.

 My really big sister Eilbhe loves holding me too. She asks every night if she can "hold Meghan tomorrow again"!

 Uncle Colm dropped around to meet me for the first time. 

 He was very comfy but I didn't quite agree with his opinion on the role of postmodern architecture in today's modern society.

 Every so often Mummy changes from having two eyes to one big black eye that goes 'click' every 10 seconds.

 Sometimes if I can't sleep I ask Eimear to rock me to sleep.

 This blogging takes its toll and I need to take a break after processing all the photos (250 taken so far!)

 Mummy and I have been sleeping reasonably well over the past week which is great. Mummy has a habit of keeping me awake but I think she is settling down now and I hope that she will sleep through the night soon as I need my sleep!

After a long day I like to veg out on the couch and watch the fire blazing away till I drift off to sleep.

24 -Series 3

October 11th, 2010

9.13pm

So I'm here. After only four hours in the hospital I arrived with a lot of help of Mummy. It was hard going though and I spent the first hours sleeping it off.

9.14pm
After a while I was handed to Daddy. I recognised his voice immediately but was too busy trying to relax to engage with conversation.

9.28pm
I was already getting hungry after only 20 minutes! We went up to our bed on the ward and we both had some food. It was weird being out in the open so neither of us slept well that night.

10.03am
My sisters rallied together with Daddy to orgainise my Moses basket the next morning. It took a bit longer than I think Daddy was planning but they got it together in the end. They were really looking forward to seeing me and they made lovely pictures for me with Evelyn while Daddy came in to pick us up.

11.14 am
Daddy arrived with his fancy camera and took some pics while we waited for the doctor to check over me before we could go home.

12.04pm
The doctor took longer than we thought so I got to hang out with Mummy and Daddy in the hospital and had my first bath. What fun!

1.18pm
I took my first steps (via Mummy carrying me in the travel cot) into the big bad world. It was such a lovely day and I had a great nap in the car.

16.42pm
I got to play with my new big sisters all afternoon. It was great fun. They loved my hat and found my small hands very funny. They really loved having me finally home!

17.42pm
Una, Granny and Granddad all called in to see me. They couldn't believe I was at home already.

20.16pm
I got to stay up late with my big sisters and they both had turns holding me and we had great fun. I can't wait to play with them again tomorrow.

21.13pm
With Eimear in bed, Eilbhe got to hold me while we sat with Mummy. And so my first 24 hours ended.
